Terms of Service
By installing or using QuranSathi ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The service
QuranSathi is a free spiritual companion app that helps you read the Quran, learn how to pray, find Qibla direction, track memorization (Hifz), and ask questions about Islam through the Saathi AI assistant. The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use QuranSathi. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You may not share your account with anyone. You may delete your account at any time via the Delete Account page.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame, or harm others;
- Attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service;
- Submit prompts to Saathi AI that solicit harmful, illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content;
- Misrepresent religious rulings shared by Saathi as personalized fatwas — Saathi is an educational companion, not a substitute for a qualified scholar;
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the app's content for commercial purposes without permission.
5. Saathi AI disclaimer
Quran translations, hadith narrations, and tajweed tips are sourced from established works. We do not guarantee that any specific text in the app is free from typographical errors. If you spot an error, please email us.
6. Content sources
- Quran text and translations: AlQuran Cloud and the public Tanzil project.
- Prayer times: Aladhan API (powered by various calculation methods).
- Recitation audio: hosted recordings of well-known reciters (Alafasy, al-Husary, al-Minshawi).
- Saathi AI: Anthropic Claude API, used under our system prompt.
7. Free service
QuranSathi is provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions at this time. The app contains no advertisements.
8. Intellectual property
The QuranSathi name, logo, user interface, source code, and original content are owned by us. The Quran text itself, hadith collections, and traditional Islamic content are in the public domain. We do not claim any rights over the Quran or hadith.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that prayer times shown are perfectly accurate for your location; please verify against your local mosque schedule when precision matters.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of QuranSathi.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable notice where possible.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Delhi, India, unless otherwise required by your local consumer protection law.
